Chapter 5

It felt so weird for Shawna to have to stay at her younger sister Morgan’s place. It wasn’t that Shawna was uncomfortable or anything like that in that part of the city. Rather, she always felt like since she was the older sister, she should be helping Morgan rather than Morgan helping her. Once she got past those feelings, somewhat, she was able to look at the difference in her environment. Staying with Morgan since Saturday night – since she went through the apartment and let out her rage on Tron’s things – started to make Shawna think about everything she had with Tron. She looked around at the things, like furniture and clothes, that Morgan had and it was nothing compared to what she was used to with Tron.

“So, yeah,” Shawna said, having just finished telling her story about what Ms. Susan had told her at the shop last night. When Shawna got home last night, she had just gone to sleep. There was so much on her mind that staying up and talking with Morgan was something that she was just not feeling. “That’s the wisdom Miss Susan dropped on me.”

Morgan just shook her head. “Shawna,” she said. “I don’t know about that. I mean, it sounds nice but think about it, girl. She got back with her dude after she found him fucking with her sister. That is some foul shit if you ask me, and I just don’t know if I could ever forgive a dude for doing something like that.”

“Well, now you dating Mister Professional,” Shawna said, giggling. “You might not ever have that problem.”

Morgan shrugged her shoulders. “Don’t say that,” she said then rolled her eyes. “You know how niggas be. Any kind can slip out and cheat on you. That is just how it is. But, you? You in a different situation with everything that happened with Tron.”

Morgan immediately thought back to that night. She had never seen her sister in such a state like she did the night she called her saying that she had called Tron and heard him fucking another chick. Morgan made sure that she was there for her sister when she got home that Saturday night after going up to Honeys East and confronting Tron about what she had heard. Morgan was totally shocked, to say the least, when her sister came back and was ten times more pissed than she was when she had left. She had seen Tron’s side chick up at the club. Morgan knew that seeing something like that was going to really do a number to her sister. That was the reason she made sure to be as supportive as she could, while also keeping it real when her sister asked her what she thought of certain things.

“So, now you thinking about getting back with him?” Morgan asked, wanting to know why Shawna had just told her the story about her client from last night. “I mean, is that what you tellin’ me?”

“Girl, that is not what I’m saying, Morgan,” Shawna answered, shaking her head.
